Synthetic Anatomy (2022)

The human form, deconstructed and rejoined, draws parallels and divergences between ourselves and the natural world. Its reconstruction, in collaboration with generated elements created with Midjourney AI, offers a kind of synthetic anatomy where the intricacies of the body are unfolded and refolded across an ambiguous terrain of space and time.

With the simultaneous creation of Transient Sculpture, the painting and sculpting of the landscape bleeds the edges of reality into their labyrinthine adjacents. An additional intent with Synthetic Anatomy was to explore how far I could manipulate and deconstruct the human form to simulate the natural world.

The photographs are digitally captured and manipulated in post-processing with Adobe Photoshop and layered AI-generated elements.
